Stolen Thwaites Dumper Recovered Southwest based Plant Hire clients reported a mini dumper stolen from a Weston-Super-Mare work-site over the weekend. The dumper was brand new and was out on its first hire job. The Automatrics MTrack device was remotely activated and soon reported a cell location south of Bristol, but no GPS signal was achieved.
An Automatrics finder was dispatched to attend the South Bristol reporting location. The finder attended the communicating cell reported by the plant tracker device. Then by conducting a a quick radio signal sweep of the area the finder was able to pick up the plant tracking device radio beacon using specialist radio direction signal finding equipment.
The secret radio signal was emanating from a Ford Transit parked up on a local street. When the VIN number was checked against the registration they failed to match. The local police attended site but could not gain access to view inside. Although there was a small hole in the chassis floor where a yellow painted object could be made out. The vehicle was taken away to a police compound for forensic checks, and the Police later confirmed the undamaged stolen dumper was inside.
